An independent insurance risk management practice · For business & private clients
Insurance is paperwork until it's everything.
On that day, the only thing that counts is how it was built. Every day before it, that's what confidence is. We provide personal and commercial insurance for households and businesses whose needs have outgrown the typical insurance process — the 1-800 number, the quote form, the agent who started last spring. The next step in insurance is a professional one.
Because at the hand of a competent expert rather than a salesperson, insurance is simply done correctly.

examples of WHAT A REVIEW TURNS UP
Helping to identify probelems
Asking the right questions and having the expertise sets the foundation for confident coverage. Helping you find “the snakes in the grass” so that the policy you pay for responds as intended.
A dwelling limit last set in 1998.
The house was recently remodeled and substantially upgraded. Local replacement cost had moved substantially in the interim, and the prior policy would have paid the 1998 figure. The renewal notice never flagged it, because nothing had changed on the carrier's side. Our review resulted in updated replacement cost coverage with a guaranteed reconstruction endorsement, hedging against unforseen costs.
Gap closed — $1,900,000
Missing business entities.
A multi-location business operating out of both owned and leased buildings was found to have significant coverage shortcomings if a claim were to occur, leaving them exposed to legal obligations they had committed to via their lease. The prior coverage merely indicated the primary business, but did not consider the other entities involved. Proper adjustments in coverage closed these gaps where possible, and put a spotlight on the areas to watch out for.
Gap closed
A hollow additional insured endorsement that gave false promises.
We helped a client identify the differences in primary versus derivative liability, and structured sufficient coverage requirements for their commercial tenant, supplemented with coverage of their own— effective risk transfer without being overly reliant on the coverage of others for a building that they owned.

Incorrect FEMA Flood Mapings.
A client was told by the previous agent that their coverage options were limited based on their Federal Flood classification. We reviewed and, with assistance from the local city engineer, obtained a FEMA flood map revision, opening the doors to adequate coverage. A little extra work on our part resulted in better protection and a more reasonable premium.
Gap closed — Coverage Limit Increased
A large home improperly placed.
A successful client wanted coverage on their beautiful custom home. Less fearful than most of common small claims, they wanted a stop-loss against catastrophe. By placing their account with a dedicated high-value provider, we achieved comprehensive coverage with an annual premium savings of over $1,000. (The guys in the red shirts might be good neighbors, but not the right insurance program for everyone.)
A better fit
Adult children & a failure to launch
An adult child was gifted a vehicle from their parents, with the expectation that the child obtain their own coverage. It was found that ownership of the vehicle still remained in the parents' name, with the child's "insurance.com" auto policy providing minimum liability limits. We assisted the parents in successful risk control and later began to serve the successful young adult with proper insurance protection of their own.

Why the difference is structural
A different type of agency
Neither model is dishonest. The volume model exists because most insurance buyers genuinely need it — a first apartment, one car, a straightforward starter home. That work is real and somebody should do it well; it simply doesn't require what we've built, and we'd be an expensive way to buy it. What we do require is that a household and a business get the same treatment, because the method is the product — and the method doesn't change just because the policy does.

THE AGENCY
An insurance risk management practice, small by design.
Much the way an investment portfolio is a group of assets working toward a common goal, a well-built insurance portfolio is a group of measures arranged to protect those achievements. We’ve run on that methodology for more than forty years across three generations of the same craft.
Small by design — an agile team of lifelong insurance people, and we intend to stay that way.

Not a queue, not a call center. Most conversations start better this way.
